About DocuParse API
DocuParse API turns receipts and invoices into clean JSON, and shows the spend in a dashboard. It's built and run by one person.
Who builds it
Hi, I'm Othmane M., the founder. I'm a web enthusiast. I don't have the longest CV in the room, but I have a strong problem-solving reflex: give me a broken invoice parser and I will stare at it until it confesses. DocuParse API is the result of a lot of those staring contests.
I build it with a small stack and a lot of testing. Every change to the parser is checked against real receipts and invoices before it ships.
How it was built
The engine reads documents with OCR, pulls out each field with rules, then reconciles the numbers: line items against the subtotal, subtotal plus tax against the total. When something doesn't add up, an AI model checks and corrects the uncertain fields before the result is delivered.
While building it, I parsed and hand-checked more than 500 real receipts and invoices. That set is how the parser is tested today, and it's where the 97% field-level accuracy figure comes from. See how we test →
